Playing Timba and Latin Jazz...
Conjunto Candela is an Afro-Cuban Timba and Latin Jazz ensemble quickly making a name for itself in Chicago's Latin and Jazz music scenes. Co-led by Zachary Himelhoch and Joaquin Garcia, the group is comprised of some of the finest young musicians in Chicago who perform regularly around the city with a variety of Latin, Jazz, and Pop groups. Himelhoch and Garcia met while studying music at Columbia College Chicago. After discovering their shared passions for Afro-Cuban and Jazz music, the two quickly became friends and have been collaborating since 2008, merging traditional Latin and Afro-Cuban sounds with contemporary tunes. Conjunto Candela can be found performing on the first Tuesday of every month at Nacional 27 in Chicago and takes pride in their ability to accommodate any live setting including restaurants, dance clubs, weddings, or private parties.
